With Jesus: From Duty to Delight
You read your Bible. You pray. You want to grow. And somewhere along the way, following Jesus started to feel like a checklist.
Maybe you’ve wondered:
- Why do I read my Bible faithfully and still feel far from Jesus?
- Why do I rush through my time with God to check the box, then feel relieved when it’s done?
- Why do I feel like I’m never doing enough, even though I sincerely want to grow?
With Jesus is four one-hour workshops for small groups, ministry teams, and churches who want more than duty and checklist Christianity. We workshop your real life: simple daily and weekly rhythms for walking through ordinary days with Jesus, not just working for him. I’m Paul Sewell, and I come to your group and lead it, free.
What changes
By the end of the four workshops, you’ll:
- Stop earning God’s approval and start receiving it
- Build a daily rhythm of thankfulness that leads to natural conversations with Jesus
- Bring your real emotions to Jesus and learn to listen to him
- Rest without guilt and measure your life by fruitfulness, not productivity
What we’ll cover
1. Three Ways to Relate to God
From Earning to Receiving
- Spot which of the three ways you default to: under God, for God, or with Jesus
- Discover motivation that comes from love and joy instead of duty
- Learn practical ways to walk with Jesus through an ordinary day
2. The Grateful POET
From Numb to Awake
- Learn the POET method for daily thankfulness
- Wake up to how Jesus is the source of everything you’re thankful for
- Learn to share Jesus stories naturally in everyday conversations
3. Emotional Clarity
From Isolated to Known
- Discover why “Jesus, today I am feeling…” changes everything
- Expand your emotional vocabulary
- Practice listening prayer that deepens the relationship
4. How to Rest
From Productive to Fruitful
- Learn why “you are not a machine” changes everything about rest
- Discover the difference between productivity and fruitfulness
- Design your most delightful day of the week
Every workshop ends with one simple rhythm to try this week.
Who it’s for
With Jesus is for faithful Christians who are tired.
You show up. You serve. You’ve been at this for years, and nobody would call you a slacker. But if you’re honest, your faith has become more about doing the right things than being with a person you love.
If that sounds like you, or like the people in your group or church, this is for you.
How it works
Four one-hour workshops that fit inside the time your group already meets. I come to you and lead the whole thing, free.
This isn’t a lecture or a Bible study. It’s a workshop: about a third teaching, a third in small groups, and a third together as a whole group. Most of the hour, your people are talking and trying things out on their real lives, not listening to me.
Book the first workshop on its own, or all four.

About Paul

For years I worked hard for God. I put in 70-hour weeks to grow a ministry and kept putting my family second “for the Kingdom.” Then one day Elisha pointed at herself, our one-year-old son, and our kitchen table and said, “This IS the Kingdom.” I was so busy working for Jesus that I was missing him.
That was over 10 years ago. Since then I’ve been learning to live with Jesus, and the rhythms in these workshops are what I’ve learned along the way. I don’t have it all figured out. I’m an apprentice of Jesus, glad to share what I’ve found with other apprentices.
I started as an engineer doing supply chain consulting, then served as an Executive Pastor and College Pastor before founding Seven Wells in 2016. I studied Industrial Engineering at Georgia Tech and received my theological training at Luther Rice.
The engineer in me loves a system that works, and Jesus keeps teaching me the gentle rhythm of walking with him. I’ve taught thousands of people over the last 20 years, and I’ve led groups across Northwest Arkansas through the material I’ll bring to yours.
Elisha and I live in Bentonville, Arkansas, with our three kids, who constantly remind us of joy. When I’m not working, you’ll find me ripping trails on my mountain bike or sipping specialty coffee next to a pile of books.
